Sheila Norman obtained her Occupational Therapy qualifications in New South Wales and has over
25 years working with children.
She is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Sheila worked at the Children’s Hospital in Sydney for five years before starting her own family and then she worked part-time with children at the Queanbeyan Community Health Centre from 1990 to 2005.
Sheila opened her own private practice in 1999, initially on a part-time basis, but then on a full-time basis, after leaving Queanbeyan Community Health Centre.
While working at the Queanbeyan Community Health Centre she worked in the local schools, giving in-service training to teachers and working with groups of children. She also set up a part-time paediatric occupational therapy department at Yass Hospital.
Sheila has worked briefly in the areas of mental health, pain management and Occupational Health & Safety which has broadened her perspective on the contribution that Occupational Therapy can make to people’s lives.
